Early Life & Background
- Full name: Rutshelle Guillaume
- Date of birth: July 28, 1988
- Place of birth: Port-au-Prince, Haiti
- Family: She is the only daughter in a family of three children.
- Father: Louis Destinval, a pastor from Les Cayes.
- Mother: Lorianne Guillaume, from Anse-à-Veau. She passed away on July 12, 2023.
Education & Early Musical Involvement
- She started singing as a child, particularly in her father’s church.
- In 2007, she joined REL, a group of young student musicians at ENARTS (École Nationale des Arts) in Haiti.
- She studied philosophy at the École Normale Supérieure of the State University of Haiti. She didn’t complete or obtain a degree.
- From about 2009 to 2011, Rutshelle was a philosophy teacher at Collège Bird in Port-au-Prince.


Music & Career
- Debut album: Émotions, released in 2014. This was her big break.
- Subsequent albums include Rebelle (2018) and Quoi Qu’il Advienne (QQA) (2021).
- She’s known for her dynamic voice, energetic performances, blending Haitian styles with contemporary influences, and for producing music in Haitian Creole.
Other Ventures & Achievements
- In 2019, she launched her own fashion brand RG Collections (bags and swimwear).

- Best Caribbean Artist at the Trace Awards & Festival (Kigali, Rwanda)
- Best Caribbean Artist (2021) – NRJ Antilles
- She is considered one of Haiti’s leading female vocalists; her music has spread throughout the Caribbean, Francophone communities (France, Canada), and beyond.
Personal Life
- Rutshelle was married to Walner O. Registre; they have a daughter named Ruth-Warly O. Registre.
- She has had other public relationships (e.g. with Roody Roodboy), but they did not last.
